Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Academic Record: Candidates must possess at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade point scale) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject.
• Eligibility Test: Candidates must have qualified the NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC/CSIR.
• Exemption: Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 are exempt from the mandatory NET/SLET/SET requirement.
• Relaxations: A relaxation of 5% marks is admissible for SC/ST/PWD candidates. A relaxation of 5% marks is also applicable to Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 September 1991 (in accordance with Govt. O.M. No. AHE.407/2017/44 dated 08-11-2018).

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 38 years as on 01.01.2026.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST / PWD candidates: Up to 5 years
  • OBC / MOBC candidates: Up to 3 years

Pay Scale

• Selected candidates will receive salary under the UGC scale of pay at Academic Level 10, along with admissible allowances as per government rules.

How to Apply

1. Download or obtain the standard application form prescribed by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam.
2. Fill out all required fields accurately.
3. Enclose a complete Bio-Data along with self-attested photocopies of all academic records and certificates starting from HSLC onwards.
4. Attach the fee deposit receipt of Rs. 1,500/-.
